THE “P” TALKS!
BY: Pilar Mateo
EVERY DAY, the posts I see about him amazes me.
His District (5) in Quezon City, sure is blessed to have an indefatigable public servant in the person of Hon. Patrick Michael Dumlao Vargas or PM for short.
He spends his days going around his District especially at this time of pandemic to look after the needs of the people.
Libre’ng Pang-ulan. Libre’ng tinapay. Meat-On-Wheels. House-to-house feeding. Dagdag Puhunan. Ayuda sa Lockdown Area. Paga-aruga sa Health Frontliners. Libre’ng bakuna. And more.
Rain or shine. Tuloy ang tulungan.
His brother, Representative Alfred Vargas is very much proud of the works his brother does each and every day.
Together, serving the people have already been part of their day-to-day life.
Said the good Congressman, “We don’t feel comfortable talking about politics at this stage kasi sa October pa naman ang filing. Focus muna kami 100% sa pagtulong sa tao ngayong pandemic. Kawawa talaga mga tao dahil naghihirap sila. They need every help they can get. Providing relief and assistance to them is our first priority. Tsaka na ang pulitika.
“Since 2010, continuous everyday yung “Isang Linggong Programa” natin kaya naman very close tayo sa mga tao at parang pamilya na kami dito sa District 5, QC. Every Monday is “Scholarship Day,” Tuesday “Medical Assistance Day”, Wednesday “Job Referral Day”, Thursday “Palupa at Pabahay Day”, Friday naman is “People’s Day”. Dito sa People’s Day, hindi nila kailangan ng appointment or anything. They can walk-in at nandun ako palagi sa opisina at ako mismo haharap sa kanila. No VIP treatment. Lahat pantay-pantay. Kaming dalawa ni Bro ko, Councilor PM Vargas, since 2010 namin ito ginagawa kaya naman hundreds of thousands na ang ating natutulungan in terms of livelihood, education, medical assistance, etc. through the years.
Since last year, every week may pinapa-raffle siyang mountain bikes, tablets, sacks of rice, grocery bags, at marami pang iba.
“Aside from these, everyday ang relief operations namin. Everyday ito since the pandemic started last year. The spirit of bayanihan lives on in our district!”
How lucky can the people under their care live!
One very important service Konsi PM has given to his constituents is the ON-SITE PHILHEALTH CARD DISTRIBUTION.
It just is so good to see that someone like him and the people in their District are ever-ready to lend a helping hand.
Had a look in the profile of PM. And these are just some of the contributions he shares in the community.

IN ANOTHER CITY, the good Mayor Isko Moreno is giving the Ospital ng Maynila a major glow-up.
The mayor shared a walkthrough into the nearly-finished building of the new medical facility, which he brags will be at par with premier privately-funded hospitals in the country.
Lahat ng kwarto, lahat ng ward, air-conditoned, maganda, automated,” the good Mayor shared.
Need he say more? Both public servants are happy to share their smiles and just let their actions speak the loudest than words! (30)
