DIARY OF A NEWBIE!

THE “P” TALKS!

BY: Pilar Mateo

HE JOINES THE “BUWAYARTISTA” segment in the noontime show, “LOL” (Lunch Out Loud) hosted by a bevy of artists.

Migz Coloma shares his experience in the show which in the end got him a P10K win.

Before I got in sa service, I already had my game face on to be sure I was ready for anything.

“As we arrived at the location kung saan kami mag swab po, I then realized na ako na lang pala magisa. Pero I knew that I had the guts to be on my own.

“As we got to the hotel, lalo po ako na excite. Nakaka overwhelm yung feeling na nandoon ka na kasi you don’t know what to expect din lalo na sa shoot namin kaya I didn’t put my guard down.

I was up all night just to practice and internalize. I did all this kasi tita for me, hindi lang po yung talent at yung looks ko ang pang laban kundi ang confidence at pagdedeliver ng mga sasabihin at gagawin ko on stage.

“If I were to be asked: “What would be your advantage sa kalaban mo?” Imbis na nag hayahay ako sa hotel na nagrerelax panood nood lang ng TV, I pushed myself to practice every second I had the time to relax. Kaya siguro tita pagdating ng shoot po namin, I knew that I would kill this stage!!

Nung pinag run through po kami ni direk ng talent portion po namin ramdam ko po yung kaba ko tita kaya at that time, medyo sumasablay yung kanta ko at yung galaw ko pang patay! Sabi ko po nun “Hindi pwede to!” So I shrugged it off.

“Nung tinawag na po kami tita para pumunta sa backstage, I was getting pumped up and ready to go. I also prayed na bigyan po ako ng ni Lord ng strength to perform and that no matter I do, I do it to glorify Him. And no matter what happens after this whether I proceed to the next or go home, I prayed that may His will be done.”

The show proper.

“As soon as the music began, I knew it was show time! When the backstage opened up and I was going to walk in that entrance, I felt fire in my soul like I knew I was gonna show everything that I’ve got and that there was no holding back. Before I knew it, I was already standing next to The Ms. Alex G, sir Billy (Crawford) , sir Bayani (Agbayani) and sir Wacky! Grabe tita yung feeling na katabi mo sila. Dati napapanood ko lang po sila sa TV and now, ako naman ang napapanood sa TV with them! Halo halo na po yung pakiramdam ko at that time pero I had to keep my cool kasi nasa contest na nga pala ako hahaha! They interviewed me as if I was only in a casual TV/Livestream guesting.

“At this point I knew that I got this in the bag because I’ve been through this kind of setting for quite many times now, It’s like riding a bike standing up. They let me act to show what I can do in acting.

“Pinabunot po nila ako sa dalawang bowl. The first bowl is the theme of the movie na iaact out ko, 2nd bowl is the lines na iaact out ko po. Kinabahan po ako pero nagulat po ako sa nabunot ko kasi alam ko po na kaya kong gawin yung nabunot ko, and so I did my best to impress them at natuwa naman po sila sa nagawa kong piece.

“After that it was time to showcase my talent. Nung nagpeperform na po ako, I felt nothing else but the feeling na I was so so so happy to be there showing my best sa lahat na nandoon, lalo na po kila Ms. Alex, sir Billy, sir Wacky and sir Bayani.

Just by standing close to them is something that I can’t describe. Parang panaginip to be working with them and seeing them close by. Ehh tita paano pa kaya yung feeling na nilapitan ka ni sir Ariel, it’s outta this world!!

But then I said si Lord na bahala, I trust in His plan for me. It was time for the results.

Di ko actually nagets nung una, yun po pala “It’s a tie!” Hahaha! Either may isa pong mananalo tita or dalawa mananalo or parehas talo po. Ang nangyare, dalawa po kami nanalo kaya it was a successful day para saamin ni Marlon. No one was eaten by Crocky hahaha! First time nga daw po nangyare na may nag tie o dalawa nanalo po tita. I’m actually already planning on what I’m going to show them sa Semis!”

It was last July 9 in “Lunch Out Loud” on TV5 when his chance to win in ‘Buwayartista’ segment was shown.
