Too early to talk about the Philippine presidential and vice presidential elections of 2022 which is scheduled to be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, as part of that year’s general election.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said politics should be set aside first since the country is still grappling with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
But of course Filipinos can’t avoid this topic, netizens can’t help but talk about it. Each one have their own opinions and choices for their president and vice president.
Pulse Asia released its survey for the top two positions. Davao City mayor Sara Duterte leads in the presidential race with 26%, with Bongbong Marcos, Senator Grace Poe, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Senator Manny Pacquiao in second place. Robredo followed those four, with 8%. For the vice presidential election, mayors Moreno and Duterte and Senate President Tito Sotto were statistically tied for first. And with this result, Senator Tito Sotto confirmed he is open to running for Vice-President in National Elections 2022. Senator Ping Lacson was placed on top 8 of 10.
One politician is getting the media and masses’ attention these days – that is no other than the dignified Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson. His stature as one of our Philippine senator is not closing door on 2022 presidential bid.
“When people talk to me about the possibility of running in 2022, ang balik ko sa kanila, I have only one requirement. I’m not closing the doors but I have only one requirement. Give me a clear chance of winning,” The senator was quoted as saying .
He is very visible these days. Visiting people in all walks of life, having chitchat with them ,investing in relationships with the masses or having a selfie which makes him so approachable and winning their hearts. A ‘pogi point “for the mission driven senator, not the more of the same type of a leader. Change is more likely to happen during his term because he is different . He had that slogan before, “ Ang Mali ay Labanan, Ang Tama ay Ipaglaban.”
Meanwhile, Senator Tito Sotto’s interview with Karen Davila, he said that in case Senator Ping runs for the highest office, he will be his personal choice to be his tandem as vice presidentiable.
“First of all, I’m still considering it… and if I do consider it, the number one on my list would be Sen. Lacson. I know his capability. I know what he can do for the country. If he runs for president, I will support him!”
Deciding which candidate to vote into office is simply a matter of party affiliation for many people. Others, however, cast their votes based on specific characteristics they look for in their candidate of choice.
You can see in the following photos how Senator Ping how he builds connection to the masses, finding the common ground. His selfies speaks of compassion , a humane quality of understanding the suffering of others and wanting to do something to alleviate that suffering. Good political leaders use compassion to see the needs of those he or she leads and to determine the course of action that would be of greatest benefit to all those involved.
