THE “P” TALKS!
BY: Pilar Mateo
AFTER A long vacation from his life as an actor on TV and the movies, journeying in a life as a father to his Elias, John Lloyd Cruz said goodbye to his hermit life.
This time, he agreed to be managed by CAM (Crown Artist Management) of his good friend Maja Salvador and partners.
Maja and JLC will now be helping each other in this stage of their careers.
CAM will now be in charge of all his inquiries after his long hiatus.
Maja and her associates are pretty sure that a lot of his fans are anticipating this, so the time has already come. THE JOHN LLOYD CRUZ is back!
CAM shares the actor’s first pictorial after a long while.
New hairdo or shall we say less hair now and well-maintained bod plus the appeal and the charm that is distinctly JLCs.
39 YEARS and counting!
“Tatlo’ng Dekada, halos apat na pala ako’ng blessed with the career I chose, Pi!”
He was a matinee idol in the time of “Annaliza” and “Flordeluna”. His loveteam with Leni Santos was such a formidable feat.
He was able to enjoy being a leading man to other actresses, like the Megastar Sharon Cuneta. And was given the opportunity to do projects with Seiko Films and Viva Films.
He became a Dad to Erika and Carla with his first marriage. In the second marriage, another two girls.
Until he met the woman behind his wings for 22 years, Sheena. Who gave him two kids. This time, a girl Reysheel and a boy, JR!
“Akala ko, hindi na ako mabi-bless ng son. God is good. This year, my dalaga turned 18. But because of the pandemic, her debut was put to a halt. Her Mom had to come home last year for the preparations. Kasi, Sheen has a business in Japan. So, most of the time, she stays there.
“This pandemic has really given us din so many realizations. Like sa amin, the chance to bond. Ako at the same time, with projects on TV and the movies. I inked a contract with Viva. So now, am part of “Encounter” top billed by Cristine Reyes and Diego Loyzaga, on Cignal-TV5 every Saturday night.
“This is the second time na we’re in a bubble taping in Pampanga where all the scenes of the remake of Korean series is being made. And am happy to be given the role of Tatay Boyet, Cristine’s driver, bodyguard and the friend of her Dad (Robert Seña).
“Right after this taping na almost three weeks aabutin, I will report naman sa shoot ng “Mamasapano” of Boracho Films. A man who’s serving in the military ang magiging role ko. When I am done with my being a Tatay Boyet, on to the next serye ako nanremake of an old Viva movie.
“Dumaraan tayo sa hardships and challenges of the times but thanks to God and we are all here.
“39 years in the business. Akala ko I will be here to be a singer. Fate led me to another path. Si Tito Alfie (Lorenzo) na ‘yan. My family will always be thankful to him. And am proud that I became one of his Liberty Boys. The Ilonggo from Silay na nakitaan niya ng potential and pinaniwalaan niya. Kasi, pinuntahan niya talaga ako noon sa amin just to ask for my Mamang and Papang’s permission na mag-artista ako.
“39 years and I’ve witnessed the changes. Marami pa rin ang dumating at dumarating. I just hope as time goes by, manatili pa rin ang mga gaya namin na makasama the new breed like what is happening pa rin now with my career.
“I came to that point na nawala rin ako sa eksena, Pi! Dumalang the projects. Pero parang cycle. Umiikot lang. Parang pinagpapahinga ka lang din ba. To be recharged din siguro. To make improvements sa sarili mo. Sa amin, sa acting pa lalo. Kaya, am thankful to tita Aster (Amoyo) for getting me back sa Viva.”
And Rey Abellana is truly back on track! (30)
