THE “P” TALKS

BY: Pilar Mateo

A NEW face will be introduced via a Joel Lamangan project, “Silab” under 3:16 Media Networks very soon.

Cloe Barreto is a nineteen year old actress from Roxas, Oriental Mindoro and member of an all-female sing and dance group Belladonnas.

Cloe accepted the challenge wholeheartedly.

“When our manager (Len Carillo), asked us kung sino ang kayang gumawa ng daring role in a movie, ako talaga ‘yung unang nagtaas ng kamay. When Mama Len and I talked about it, I told her how ready I was na para sumalang na sa isang project na gaya ng “Silab”.

In “Silab”, Cloe is Ana, a woman with obsessive-compulsive neurosis, a mild mental disorder characterized by excessive anxiety, insecurity, or obsession, usually compensated for by various defense mechanisms.

How did Cloe tackle the character?

“Aminado po ako napakahirap pala ng role na gagampanan ko nung ipaliwanag na sa akin. Napaka-complex nung character ko. Paiba-iba rin yung emotions na kailangang ilabas ko, but I’m happy kasi nagawa ko naman siya nang maayos, thanks to Direk Joel’s guidance.”

Direk Joel is all praises for his new star.

“Para siyang hindi baguhan. Ang galing-galing niyang aktres. Parang si Jaclyn Jose nung nagsisimula siya sa pelikula,” said the award-winning director.

Cloe has two leading men in “Silab”–Jason Abalos and newbie hunk actor Marco Gomez. Both will be involved in the topsy-turvy roller coaster of emotions that Cloe’s character will face. Deeper relations that Ana couldn’t even understand.

Giving support to the stars in the project are Ms. Chanda Romero, Lotlot de Leon and Jim Pebanco.

“Silab” is penned by ay award-winning scriptwriter Raquel Villavicencio who’s behind the movies “Kapag Langit Ang Humatol”, “Sa Ngalan ng Pag-ibig”, “Minsan Pa Nating Hagkan Ang Nakaraan”, “Abandonada”, “Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa”, “Hihintayin Kita sa Langit”, “Batch ’81”, among others.

The time is ticking as we are nearing to get th3 chance to see and watch this project boasting of Direk Joel’s newest gem!
