THE “P” TALKS!
BY: Pilar Mateo
THAT was the title I gave newbie Marco Gomez when he, together with co-artist in Len Carrilo’s 3:16 Media Networks, Cloe Barreto were presented to the media.
They will star in Joel Lamangan’s “Silab” produced by 3:16 Media Networks.
Marco grew up in the land where snowfields, snow capped glades, where the highest peak can be found, the Grossglocksen, forests, woodlands, the Danube River and yes, something that will always remind us of Julie Andrew’s “The Sound of Music” movie, and most especially people in Arts and Music-Vienna, Austria.
“I miss the place so much, but I have to be here. So, I can pursue the career I chose to follow. My mom stays there and I hope when all these pandemic is over, maka-visit ako.”
Growing up, Marco became a black belter (6th Dan) in Martial Arts. Apart from other things which he focused on. Which also helped him care for his well-toned muscles, health and well-being.
“Mahirap now, that gyms are closed. But I can still do my rounds of core fit kahit inside the house lang. Or jog and run around.”
Marco, Cloe and the rest of the Clique V and Belladonnas members, where they are a part of are now housed in the cool weather of our Summer Capital-Baguio.
“While waiting pa for the date when “Silab” can be shown, Mama Len decided na mag-vacation na muna kami ni Baguio. Maganda ang weather. We can fully recharge. Away from the madding crowd. And makaiwas din sa growing number of cases sa matatao’ng lugar in the city.
“Most of the time, isinasabay-sabay na namin nina Cloe and Quinn (Carillo) ang exercises namin under the morning sun, doing our TikTok routines. Para hindi rin ako kalawangin with the dance routines. Kasi, isang taon din kaming bihirang-bihira ‘yung pagkakaroon ng gig kahit virtual. So, every now and then, that’s what we do here. And sa lamig ng weather ng Baguio, para ring nare-remind ako ng home ko back in Vienna.”
Brown skinned. Macho. Tall. Dark. Handsome. Has Mr. Accent got what it takes to follow in the footsteps of Richard Gomez, Cesar Montano, Gardo Versoza-in that same mold?
“I have yet to see the movies they have done. But yes, kilala ko naman po sila. Very good actors. Sana nga, kahit kalahati ng narating nila and what they were able to accomplish as actors, maulanan din ako.”
After the Holy Week, Marco, Cloe and the rest of the cast of “Silab” will finally see their finished project.
The movie which direk Joel said he is so proud of because of what he and Cloe, with Jason Abalos and the rest of the cast gave.
It can merit an award. Or a recognition. Lots of pats on the back. For a job well done.
And the gent in Mr. Accent can only nod and smile! (30)
