THE “P” TALKS!
BY: Pilar Mateo
MANY TIMES, we have featured the life and times of Blogger MJ RACADIO here. Where he was sharing not just his life in our country but in the world as well, particularly in Hollywood.
Being part of the Hollywood scenario, just like colleagues Janet Susan Rodriguez and Ruben Nepales, he gets to interview the celebrities in America.
And this year, his Documentary is out. And a nomination to the TOFA (The Outstanding Filipinos Awards in America) awaits him, too.
“Yes, these nominations for the TOFA100 Most Impactful Filipino Americans are now open! My friends and colleagues have asked my other friends, too to email name, current profile, and 50-word explanation why the candidate deserves your nomination to firstname.lastname@example.org with TOFA100 NOMINEE on the subject line no later than August 1.
“Nakakakaba na very proud din para maisip nila ako.The year’s coveted list of honorees will be announced by end of August this year. The 10th Annual TOFA Awards will be held virtually on October 31 this year to close the national celebration of Filipino American History Month.
“With regards to my Documentary, I decided to make this short documentary as a glimpse of my story where I started as blogger/podcaster and always have the desire in giving back to the community and inspire others. Also, life behind the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
“The Docu was made by Dexter Macaraeg. Where he talked about my life, where somewhere in Villasis, Pangasinan, a young and devout Christian followed his Hollywood dream of becoming a singer, publicist and an entertainment blogger.
“Questions such as “How glamorous is it to be a celebrity blogger? What fame did it bring to MJ? What were his failures and successes in life?” were just some in which he looked for answers. Find out in this short documentary as I share with you my triumphs, personal failures, and the people who are close to me.
The Docu premieres this Weekend on BlogTalk with MJRacadio I Sine Abreño. #BlogtalkwithMJRacadio Youtube Channel

Definitely, I will nominate MJ in the TOFA. Not just because he is my friend. But because I have seen his notable works, starting with EBC Studios, and sharing his talent as a Blogger to the whole world with the interviews he made with celebrities, international stars, politicians, people from all walks of life.
And always, sharing a portion of himself, in ways that he can give back to the community.
As I was chatting with the guy, interviews and deadlines done, he was on the way to a grocery to pick up prescription medicines, items for cooking, grocering for the elderly who are in his neighborhood.
“Most of them live alone. So, I am their sort of personal shopper, too. Most cannot leave their homes so, I made myself available to be of help to them where their need for an assistant comes in handy in procuring their needs and can be done by me. Like I said, at the end of the day, what matters is being of service to your fellowmen who needs not just your time, but caring for them as well.”
I know in my heart, MJ will fit a seat in the TOFA nomination! And don’t forget to watch his Docu!
I ASKED HIM to make kwento as to how he came to be. In this business. Now, in the time of CoVid-19. And there’s Pandemic.
There’s Kyle Velino.
“Nag Go-See po ako sa Starmagic kay Mr.M (Johnny Manahan) po.
“Then I attended the workshop. after po nun ilang days of the workshop na, Mr. M called me again and i signed na po with Starmagic.
“Then ilang months po, my first teleserye po is “The Good Son” under Dreamscape Entertainment. Then nag-guest na rin po ako sa “MMK”, “Ipaglaban Mo”. My latest serye po was “The Killer Bride.
“I’m 20 years old, studying at De LaSalle College of Saint Benilde sa Taft. Actually I really wanted to be a Pilot. But ayun I was given a chance here in the industry kaya ipinagpatuloy ko na po.
“Gameboys” was really a blessing for me ‘coz I didn’t expect na during this pandemic pa ako mabibigyan ng magandang opportunity.
“I was their first option for the role of Terrence in “Gameboys”. That’s what I was told po.
“And I asked my handler how is that possible? Kasi i dont remember auditioning for the role. And thats when my handlers told me that i auditioned nga pala for a movie under IdeaFirst two years ago and that’s where they saw me.
“It’s just amazing coz I didn’t expect this and I am forever grateful for their trust. That’s why I told myself that I’d do my best to portray Terrence. We’re very overwhelmed dahil tinangkilik talaga ng tao ang “Gameboys” not only here in our country but also in other parts of the world. “Super thankful ako sa IdeaFirst for believing in me. But again this is just the beginning marami pa pong dapat matutunan and pagdaanan. But I’m blessed to be a part of this wonderful series. “Well one of the actors I look up to is Leonardo DiCaprio. He is a very good actor. Bata pa lang kasi ako mahilig na ako manood ng Hollywood movies. Ayun nga po after nitong series sabi po samin is mag movie na raw ang “Gameboys” and sana matuloy po and we’re very excited pero siyempre tuloy tuloy pa rin po ang hardwork and we’ll use this as an inspiration. “Isa sa mga biggest challenges namin dito sa series na ito is yung new set up po namin. Very different sa kinasanayan namin sa taping. Now kasi were shooting on our own. “Di namin nakakaharap si direk and mga co- actors ko. We’re just shooting using our own phones and cameras. Si direk naman is nag i-instruct sa amin via Zoom. “Kami rin nagse-set up ng locations namin sa rooms etc., basta inside our homes lang. And sobrang nakakapanibago dahil ngayon lang naman namin nagawa ito. “So at first we had a hard time adjusting but ayun nasanay na rin. And feeling ko isa rin sa reason why naging successful is dahil din sa mga ka-work ko and kila direk coz sobrang light nila katrabaho and talagang we work as a team and as a family. “And for me siguro yun yung secret ng success ng “Gameboys”. Sobrang natural lang and super galing ng mga co-actors ko and i learned a lot from them lalo na kay direk Ivan (Andre Payawal). Pass or Game? It premiered in May and now, the BL (Boys’ Love) series has subtitles in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Czech, Turkish, Korean, Thai, Indonesian and Arabic. Are you Game? People are intrigued with his support role to Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas. But there are no small nor big roles, right? (30)
