On the first day, hundreds of people flock together to watch Gantimpala Theater Foundation‘s “Kanser“, a Noli Me Tangere musical. It was held at AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo last Friday, September 27.
The musical play received multiple praise from the media, students, and critics. Audience, especially students, shrieks during Crisostomo Ibarra and Maria Clara’s intimate moments. Others were in awe when all the cast sing flawlessly.
The said musical was first played on stage in 1993 directed by Frannie Zamora, and the original script was written by Jomar Fleras.
In the 2019 rendition, singer Kiel Alo plays the role of Crisostomo Ibarra, Rare Columna as Maria Clara, Carlo Mañalac as Elias, Richelle Anne Joson as Sisa, and
introducing Carlo Mendoza as Padre Salvi.
Also starring Leo Ponseca (Padre Damaso), Neil Tolentino (Pilosopong Tasyo), Reina Reas (Donya Consolacion), Angelo Moratilla (Tinyente Guevarra), Roni Abario (Pilosopong Tasyo, Don Tiburcio), Sarah Maniquis (Donya Victorina), Lezlie Dailisan (Don Tiburcio), Richelle Anne Joson (Sisa), Jesiela Gripo (Sinang), Juan Miguel Tecson (Basilio), Frannie Zamora (Kapitan Tiyago), John Joevhin Pascual (Crispin), and Francis Cruz III (Lucas).
For the people who haven’t seen Kanser yet, don’t fret because you still have a chance to watch it on October 3, Thursday, at 8AM, 11 AM and 2PM at the Star Theater in CCP Complex.
