THE “P” TALKS!
BY: Pilar Mateo
“WALA pa rin akong lovelife, Ate Pilar. Date-date lang!”
Over dinner at Conti’s, that was what the “Thuy” of “Miss Saigon” and soon, will be the Anthony Hope in “Sweeney Todd” Gerald Santos mused.
“I am busy rin with corporate events. But mostly rehearsals na for “Sweeney” and itong guesting ko sa “Beyond Timeline” of Echo Jam at the Music Museum on August 3, 2019 (Saturday) featuring our great artists-Rey Valera, Marco Sison and Ms. Dulce and directed by Calvin Neria.
(Anthony Hope is a young sailor who helped Sweeney Todd by allowing him to board on the ship he was sailing on that was heading to London.)
“On September 1, 2019 naman, I will be at the Star Theater as follow-up sa last concert ko. Still going back to my roots.
How does ‘Ge keep up with his so very hectic schedules? After the gruesome stint in London, has his Manila skeds felt the same?
“Mas hectic pa rin dun sa UK kasi everyday shows ‘yun in a very cold country. Basta avoid lang mga bawal. Proper maintenance ng kain and exercise. Ang alam ko kasi you have to listen to your body.
Kaya isasabit ko muna ang uniporme ni Thuy to take on this role.
Gerald is excited about something. And he made me listen to the rough copy of his new baby.
“We are just waiting sa schedule ng Star Music for it to be released. In all music platforms din. “Hindi Pa Huli Ang Lahat” na ginawa ni Kuya Cocoy (Ramilo). Para if ever na umalis ako at magtrabaho uli sa ibang bansa, there is something na iiwan ko sa ating mga kababayan na palagi pa rin akong maaalala. I am hoping ito naman ang maging signature song ko here.”
Still singing from the heart, Gerald at whatever role he performs shines as brightly as the stars he once wished to be with!
