One of the most anticipated romantic movies in January is coming to theaters: Sakaling Maging Tayo. McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson (aka McLisse) reunite on the big screen, while director JP Habac directed the said film after his smash-hit full-length movie, I’m Drunk, I Love You. The film produced by Black Sheep.
The project has been highly anticipated by McLisse fans with the trailer garnering more than 1 million views after it was released during the holidays.
In Sakaling Maging Tayo, two college freshmen, Pol (McCoy) and Laya (Elisse), accidentally meet during their last day of school in Baguio City. The two play a game of dares ranging from eating exotic food, to getting a random tattoo, to confessing deep, dark secrets. Little they know that the dares would eventually force them to confronting their issues and leads them to a start of a possible romance.
The film was shot entirely in Baguio after JP was inspired by classic romantic films like Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising and Labs Kita… Okey Ka Lang?. JP also drew inspiration from the songs that serves as a backdrop to Pol and Laya’s night of dares and possible romance. The soundtrack features songs from artists like Moira dela Torre, KZ Tandingan, Johnoy Danao, and Ang Bandang Shirley.
The film also stars Bembol Roco, Paulo Angeles, Markus Patterson, Milo Elmido Jr., and Chai Fonacier.
Sakaling Maging Tayo opens in cinemas nationwide starting January 19.
