FOR the past few weeks, Cebu-based singer-songwriter Aria Bench is getting a lot of gigs around Luzon.
No doubt that this 18-year-old Cebuana is becoming one of the most in-demand independent artists from Cebu. She’s going to conquer the hearts of the people in Metro Manila, because of her high and melodic voice.
I had a chance to talk to her and asked about her upcoming projects, and people who inspired her.
“Nung maliit pa ako, idol ko po talaga si Lani Misalucha, Jaya, at Regine Velasquez kasi po sila talaga iyung diva talaga.” She said. Most of her favorites are from the local music scene. She grew up listening to the songs of the well-known Filipino divas. “Favorite ko rin po sina Morissette Amon, at Klarisse de Guzman.” She continued.
She also admires the international talents, such as Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, and Christina Aguilera.
If she wants to have a music collaboration, who could that be? “Dream ko po talaga na maka-duet o magkaroon ng collaboration kay Lani Misalucha o kaya kay Morissette Amon.” She said with a smile of her face.
Aside from singing, what other things does she do as an artist? “Nagsusulat din po ako ng mga kanta, and then I also do acting, modeling, and dancing. Gusto ko po na subukan ang lahat para maging magaling na performing artist.” She said.
She’s also mentioned her other gigs, including Clique V mall tour, “I also went to SM San Jose in Bulacan, and Pavillion Mall in Laguna for the Clique V mall tour. Pati na rin po sa V Central Molino sa Cavite, Farmers Plaza sa Araneta Center, at Ali Mall po.” She explained.
