ToFarm Film Festival announces the official full-length film finalists

For more than 100 entries submitted, only seven full-length films were chosen for the 3rd TOFARM Film Festival. It was announced today, May 29, during a press conference at the Novotel Manila in Cubao, Quezon City.

Here are the seven finalists:

  • 1957 (Written and to be directed by Hubert Tibi)
  • Alimuom (Written and to be directed by Keith Sicat)
  • Fasang (Written by Charlson Ong)
  • Isang Kuwento ng Gubat (The Leonard Co Story) (Written by Rosalie Matilac; and to be directed by Ellen Ongkeko-Marfil, Rosalie Matilac, and Nilo Paz)
  • Lola Igna (Written and directed by Eduardo Roy, Jr.)
  • Mga Anak Ng Kamote (Written by John Carlo Pacala, directed by Carlo Catu)
  • Sol Searching (Written and directed by Roman Perez Jr.)

Director of That Thing Called Tadhana Antoinette Jadaone, novelist Krip Yuson​, ​screenwriter Manny Buising, and film producer Mario Cornejo​ serve as the TOFARM Selection Committee. Actress Raquel Villavicencio is the committee chairperson.

TOFARM Film Festival is the only advocacy-driven film festival in the country today, with entries showcasing the lives, journeys, trials and triumphs of the Filipino farmer.
