ABBA fans rejoice because, after 35 years, Swedish 70’s band Abba announce two new songs. It was announced on the Abba’s official Instagram page yesterday, April 27.
They had recorded two new songs for a project in which avatars of the band will perform. “The decision to go ahead with the exciting Abba avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence. We all felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and we had only been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!” the band said.
So far, no further announcement of the release date of the new songs, but one of them, titled I Still Have Faith In You, will be performed in December on a TV special broadcast by the BBC and NBC.
Abba is composed of 4 members: songwriters Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, and singers Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad. They released their first album titled Ring Ring in 1973. The band sold more than a hundred million singles around the world, including Mama Mia, Take a Chance On Me, Fernando, and Dancing Queen. The last time they perform in Manila was in November 2015 at the Solaire Resort & Casino, Parañaque City.
