THE Mindanao tour of Obra ni Juan was a huge success. All venues were all filled up with students and theater enthusiast. Some were curious individuals who were truly amazed and enjoyed on the performance of the actors. One of the most popular actors during the tour was Patrick Libao who played the role as Juan Luna.
Patrick is a graduate in Secondary Education at Adamson University and theater actor for more than five years. Patrick realized that he wanted to be a stage actor “Noong nanood ako ng stage play na pinalabas ng Philippine Stages Foundation, eventually doon nag-boost iyung ano ko iyung spirit ko na puwede akong stage actor someday.”
He nominated in several award giving body, such as Aliw Awards and Broadway World Awards. His first nomination in the Aliw Awards for his performance as the title role in the musicale Joe: A Filipino Rockssical in 2012. Last year, he was part of several theater productions, like Limitless Production’s Age of Ice, Dalanghita Production’s Tatlong Linggong Pag-ibig, Block Box Productions’ Mula sa Buwan, and Egg Theater’s Work in Progress 2016.
Patrick is also a writer. Some of his works are Lahug, Bala at Krus, Felipa, and Loob.
He also mentioned that felt satisfaction every time he performs on stage. “Siguro ang sarap sa pakiramdam na nakikita mo ang sarili mo na nasa stage ka… sabi ko ‘Nasa stage ako, umaarte ako, tapos ang dami kong nai-inspire na tao.’ Iyun ang unang pumasok sa utak ko. ”
Aside from Patrick, Obra ni Juan was also top billed by Philippine Stagers Foundation’ founder Atty. Vince Tañada as Juan Luna. Also starring in this play are Chin Ortega, Johnrey Rivas, Jomar Bautista, Cindy Liper, JP Lopez, Kenneth Sadsad, Rutchel Leonor, Cris Limand Adelle Ibarrientos.
